Cities are getting ready to report on the Green City Accord

The majority of Green City Accord cities will be able to report their baseline scenarios via the newly launched electronic platform.

GCA_Monitoring Framework

By joining the Accord, mayors have agreed to step up their efforts in five key areas by 2030: air, water, nature and biodiversity, circular economy and waste, and noise.

In each of these areas, signatories will have to establish baseline levels and setting ambitious targets that go beyond minimum requirements set by EU laws within two years of signing; implement policies and programmes in an integrated manner, to achieve their targets by 2030; and report on implementation and progress every three years.

Now all signatory cities that joined in 2020 and 2021 are getting ready to submit a Baseline report by 15 December 2023. Other cities that have joined after 2021 should submit a Baseline report two years after formally joining or latest by 15 December of the same year.

The reporting platform is now available to all signatories here.
